TISAR INTRODUCTIONS
TISAR (Transmasculine initiative For Solidarity, Advocacy And Resistance) is a Transgender community-based organization and a pan-Bengal transmasculine collective working
across different districts in West Bengal, with a focus on North 24 Parganas. We have been working on rights, lives, and livelihoods of transgender,
gender-variant, and larger LGBTQ+ community individuals, with a
focus on transmasculine (FTM) populations.
VISION
Envisions a world where a thriving, inclusive transgender community is celebrated for its resilience and has equal access to opportunities, rights, and dignity.
MISSION
Our mission is to advocate for the rights, dignity, and well-being of transgender and gender-nonconforming people. We provide resources, support, and education to empower individuals and communities, challenge stigma and discrimination, and promote policies that advance transgender equality. Through activism, outreach, and collaboration, we strive to foster a more inclusive and affirming society where everyone can thrive regardless of gender identity.
OBJECTIVES
The primary objective of TISAR (Transmasculine Initiative for Solidarity, Advocacy, and Resistance) is to empower transmasculine and gender-diverse individuals
Creating safe spaces where trans and gender-diverse people can connect, share experiences, and build solidarity in the face of societal challenges.

ACTIVITIES OF YEAR 2022-2023
Friendly Cricket Match for Mental Well-being
On 17th April 2022, TISAR organized a friendly cricket match between North 24 Parganas and South 24 Parganas to boost the morale of transgender community members recovering from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The event aimed to address mental health challenges, including depression, by fostering teamwork, joy, and solidarity during a time of crisis.

Supporting Legal Recognition for Transmasculine Individuals
On 17th April 2022, TISAR proudly became the first transmasculine organization in West Bengal to provide affidavits to 35 transmasculine individuals. As per the Transgender Protection Act 2019, the affidavit is essential for obtaining a transgender certificate. TISAR remains committed to continuing this initiative.

Ration Kit Distribution
ON 17TH APRIL 2022, TISAR, in collaboration with Pleqsus Foundation, distributed ration kits to 60 trans brothers and sisters, ensuring essential support during challenging times. This initiative reflects our commitment to uplifting the transgender community through solidarity and care.

Employment Opportunity with Tata Steel
On 2nd July 2022, TISAR extends heartfelt gratitude to Tata Steel for hiring transgender individuals. Greetings and love to the five trans brothers who joined Tata Steel through their qualifications, along with guidance and support from TISAR. We hope they continue to excel with their hard work, honesty, and efficiency. Wishing everyone a joyful and proud Pride Month.

Performance at Kolkata Rainbow Pride Walk
On 18th December 2022, TISAR brothers performed a powerful dance and drama showcasing the pain and challenges faced due to their gender identity. This moving performance at the Kolkata Rainbow Pride Walk highlighted their struggles while promoting awareness, acceptance, and visibility for the transgender community.

TISAR organized a vibrant Holi celebration, embracing the diversity and beauty of the transgender community. The event symbolized unity, joy, and mental rejuvenation, with colours of the rainbow representing inclusivity and pride. It provided a space for celebration and connection, fostering happiness and mental well-being among participants and connect with mainstream society.
